Meryenda at Super Bowl of China

I've written many times before about Super Bowl of China in the past. I just can't get enough of this restaurant where food is affordable and the service is great.

I frequent their Megamall Branch. I've dined in at their Glorietta store for six times. This post is my first time in  Super Bowl of China - Trinoma.

Halo-halo at Php140.00 is good enough for sharing.

Dimsum Platter, Php 260.00

Combination  Platter, Php295.00 , is a combination of chicken and pork..

Green mango shake, Php90 00, is always my choice of drink

Having Yang Chow Fried Rice, Php , for meryenda - very Pinoy!

As always, Super Bowl of China's staff  - from Manager down the line, makes dining here super enjoyable.

I've chosen SBC's Trinoma branch since I met with family and friends
who live in Novaliches and Bulacan

My bestfriend, Nen, and my inaanak, Jam
My Kuya Bob and kids Bang, Bea, Kuis. Ate Che and son Andrei. And Ate Rose .

Halo-Halo at Home

Summer means heat. Heat means having halo-halo. Halo-halo during summer means spending a minimum of one hundred pesos a day for a family of five. The figure I gave is very conservative because my neighbor sells halo-halo for twenty pesos per  glass.  If my family dines out at restaurants or food chain it's a whole lot different story.

I'm not into sweet food but halo-halo is an exception, along with blueberry cheesecake. So every summer I'd spend a lot for this.  A month ago my husband bought me an ice crusher (around Php700), which saved us a lot of moolah and time going back and forth to our neighbor for that  halo-halo craving.

We started buying the ingredients at groceries, the bottled ones. Then moved on from buying the raw material and cook it ourselves. Not only did we save more money, it has become a family bonding when preparing  halo-halo at home.

Having this many friends come over at home for  halo-halo is now a breeze.

Next step? My kids are asking me to sell halo-halo.

Elegant Zuni Restaurant and Wine Bar

The DermatoPoietin Press Launch was a day of fine food and tasteful entertainment, where guests were treated to a 4-course luncheon at Zuni Restaurant and Wine Bar - Greenbelt 5.
Spiced Norwegian Salmon  was cooked just right. The brown rice on the side made this more palatable for me as brown rice is what we eat at home.
Crepe Marinated Salmon was a big surprise. I'm familiar with crepe with fruits in it but salmon...ooh, you've got to try this one. The pepper sprinkled on the side of the plate is good for those who like spicy.
Grilled U.S. Angus Top Blade Steak was cooked to perfection.
Freshly squeezed oranged juice that clear  my already sore  throat
Freshly ripe mango juice
Cream of Asparagus Soup. The croutons was ordinary.
It was garlic croutons which made the soup tastier.

Moist Chocolate Cake with berries on top which I had to bring home, I'm not much into sweet.
This wine corks made into napkin holder captured my attention. I used to collect this when I was young.

Zuni's ambiance is elegant and yet all the staff are friendly and effective at what they do. One waiter goes around asking if they need anything else. This is must visit for guys wanting to impress the love of their life. I'm definitely going back at Zuni not just for their food but for the great service.  I'll check if the service is the same for regular diners.

Though their bar is a bit narrow, and gets to be crowded, I find still cozy. Perfect  for sharing intimate chat with people that matters most..

Bahay Kawayan Restaurant

When you google tourist attractions in Taytay, Rizal, Bahay Kawayan Restaurant is in the list. For the longest time, everytime we'll visit Mang Cesar in Teresa, Rizal, I'd ask my husband if we can drop by this resto. But each time, we'd get lost. Finally last week, we found the place!

The place is unpretentious. The people are simple. Everything around this place is modest. The food, hmmm...

Fresh buko juice, at P55, is much like the buko juice we buy from our suki, all-natural. Be sure to ask for sugar if you like yours sweet.

Adobo sa Gatang Hito, P150 for every 500 grams, brings back memories of my mother and grandmother who used to cook delicious gata viand.

Sinigang sa Miso na Kandule, P160 for every 268 grams.

Piniritong Hito, P160 for every 500 grams.

Sinigang na Hipon, P280 for every 242 grams.

Pinakbet, P110. I highly recommend this. Tastes much like Max's pinakbet.

Crispy Pata, P300, was a hit to my children. They liked the crunchiness.

Calamares Fritos with onion rings, P150, was so bland we weren't able to finish it.

Happy Diners we met at Bahay Kawayan

First time diners, Marj and Tito from Antipolo

Old diners and residents of Taytay, Sely and Jun San Victores.

Cherry Blossoms Cakes

Organizing events, such as birthdays, weddings, baptismal and others would always require my utmost care. One of the most important aspect for my clients is choosing the cake for their special event. Whether it's a children's party or an adult gathering, a unique cake will always be a star in its own right. It is thus necessary to choose where you e your cake made.

For Occasions of Joy's Second Year Anniversary, the chocolate cupcakes were from Cherry Blossoms Cakes - who made the event even sweeter and happier.

The cake below is what we had for Bed's Baby Shower held last January at Richmonde Hotel

What's nice about Cherry Blossoms Cakes' is the friendly and accommodating attitude of its owner, Ms. Cherry Ong. She patiently listens to what you'd want your cake to be, but never shy away from giving her professional ideas.

For inquiries you may contact Ms. Cherry at 775-2200/ 0917-8348165/ 0918-9348165/ 0922-8768774
