Kape Dipirensya

After a visit at Tam-Awan, it is a must (for coffee lovers and art enthusiasts) to have coffee and biscuits at Kape Dipirensya. This coffee shop is owned by Master Artist Ben-Hur Villanueva, located just in front of Tam-Awan Village.

They serve soya coffee and danish cookies at P85.

They hang coffee mugs that are cracked, adding that "that's why this coffee shop is called Kape Dipirensya, may diperensya ang mga tasa".

FACTS ABOUT SHRIMP

Like eggs, shrimp has gotten a bad wrap due to its cholesterol content. Contrary to past beliefs, eating shrimp does not significantly increase your LDL cholesterol levels but has been shown to increase your HDL (good) cholesterol levels.

It is a very low fat food containing only 1g per 3oz. serving which is mostly polyunsaturated, containing moderate amounts of omega-3 fatty acids - which we all should know by now is a very good thing!

Shrimp is a very convenient food that can be eating just about any way and tossed into just about any dish. It is extremely high in protein and other nutrients giving this relatively inexpensive food a lot of bang for its buck.

For starters, eating shrimp and other seafood products regularly (3 times per week) can:
• Reduce the risk of many types of cancer
• Boost your mood and decrease depression
• Help prevent anemia
• Reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis and Alzheimers disease
• Increase energy
• Promote healthy bones, teeth and gums
• Increase your HDL (good) cholesterol levels
• Boost your immune system
• Promote brain health

Shrimp is low in fat and calories but is an excellent source of Protein, Selenium, and Vitamin B12 and is a very good source of Iron, Phosphorus, Niacin, and Zinc.
1 - 3 oz. serving has:
• 84 calories, 1g total fat, 0 saturated, 166mg cholesterol, 190mg sodium, 0 carb, 0 sugar, 18g protein - 36%
• 48% Selenium - Selenium helps rid the body of free radicals that lead to cancer as well as strengthen the immune system preventing infection and illness.
• 21% Vitamin B12 - Vitamin B12 is needed for normal nerve cell activity as well as red blood cell production which helps prevent anemia. It is also needed to help make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. It helps your cells metabolize protein, carbohydrate and fat and is needed for the production of the mood-affecting substance called SAMe. It works with folic acid to control homocysteine levels to prevent the increase risk of heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis and

Fruitty Yogurt

This is not the usual yogurt we normally see around for the process is different. Instead of pouring the yogurt on a cup, they get a frozen yogurt from the freezer. Put it inside the machine...

...then they add the fruit of your choice inside the machine.

This is how it looks when the yogurt comes out.
(P155 for this cup)

Raspberry is my choice of fruit, so the texture of this yogurt is rough (which my kids find off). The taste, they say is very sour, but I actually love this (I'm a sucker for yogurt!).

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Sandwich

When having coffee at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, it is a must that we order their breakfast set for my kids. These breakfast sets comes with your choice of brewed coffee or hot tea.

Bag of Beans Restaurant

It was my first time to dine here for everytime we go at Tagaytay and plan to dine at Bag of Beans the place is always full. Luckily on that afternoon of December 17 there weren't too many customers. I find the place homey and the dishes too. The lack of pretentiousness of the menu and its presentation reminded me of my mother-in-law's delicious home-cooked dishes.

Vegetable Salad laden with parmesan, a MUST try.
This meal could've been perfect if not for the overcooked bangus

This caught my attention, taken inside the restroom

Sbarro

Sbarro is a chain of pizza restaurant that specializes in traditional Italian cuisine including its most popular menu item "pizza by the slice." Its headquarters is located in Melville,Huntington, New York.
(Sbarro Glorieta 5)
Sbarro was founded by Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro. The couple and their three sons, Joseph, Mario, and Anthony immigrated to America from Naples, Italy in 1956 with help from the Padovani family, who took them in. They gave Gennaro employment in their deli. The same year, the Sbarro family opened their first Salumeria (an Italian grocery store) at 1701 65th Street and 17th Avenue in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York which became popular for its fresh food and genuine Italian fare. Their Sbarro Italian Delicatessen in Brooklyn was well received by the local community and was the first of a successful chain. (Source: Wikipedia)
